What is depression? 

Depression is a mental health condition that affects your emotions, thoughts, and can have a significant impact on your daily life and functioning. Depression can manifest in various ways, and it affects individuals differently. Common symptoms include a persistent feeling of sadness, hopelessness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, and restlessness,  or a general lack of interest or pleasure in activities you once enjoyed. You may experience changes in your sleep patterns, such as difficulty falling asleep or oversleeping, as well as changes in appetite, leading to weight loss or gain. In severe cases, depression can lead to thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
